Prokem began on Church Street in Preston, packing yam tubers and bags of egusi for neighbours who couldn’t find the right ingredients on the high street. Today, registered as Prokem Afro Caribbean Foods Limited, we ship across the UK — but the rule hasn’t changed: if we wouldn’t cook with it, we don’t sell it.
